January 11, 2011 A few days in Pai

There's a charming tourist town in a green valley in northeast Thailand called Pai.  I recommend people go there even though it's so touristy.  They have the best postcards and t-shirts I've seen.  After a very windy trip from Chiang Mai (762 curves on the highway to get there - according to the t-shirts), the bus dropped us off smack-dab in the middle of the night market.  We walked through the night market lugging our suitcases behind us and managed to find this totally cute bungalow for 400 baht.  It even had wi-fi!  I love the bamboo walls.  There was a hammock on the front porch, too.  Lovely place.

  1. That actually was a cozy little hut. But for the loud and drunk neighbors (of a nationality I won't mention), it was a great arrangement. Cold at night, but it felt good to bundle up, curl up under a lot of blankets, and cuddle.
