February 17, 2011 Phnom Penh, Russian Market & Olympic Stadium

I found an excellent place for iced cappuccino and made a habit of it immediately. I sucked that drink down in seconds so you see us here just with an empty glass beside me.

Walked a few blocks to Evergreen, a vegetarian restaurant that was tasty and made from good ingredients. They had traditionally Chinese "meat" on the menu but the mock vegetarian kind.  Among the choices - mock intestine. Neither of us tried it.

Took a tuk-tuk to the Russian Market, which was actually just another market despite what the Lonely Planet says. Well, OK, I hadn't seen this at any other market we'd been to.

After, we headed to the Olympic Stadium for sunset.  Some people we met in Thailand told us we had to go there are sunset.  When we asked why they wouldn't tell us.  "Just go!"  I bet Christian that it was some kind of performance that happens.  He bet that it was just a nice view of the city. We were both wrong. Outside option strikes again.
All around the top area of the stadium there are speakers set up, each set manned by a different group of people.  At some point, they all started gather people (mostly women) and began doing aerobics.  Each group was a little different.  At first I did a little just to goof around, but then Christian and I decided to just dive in and get the full workout.  Our guy was tiny and spindly and had a nasty habit of moving faster than the beats of the already fast paced songs.  Good workout, great fun. And that sunset was beautiful.
