February 2, 2011 Strolling around the capital

Walked around to get a feel for the city today.  Found the river - wasn't hard, they weren't hiding it.  The area looks very newly developed and well built for the community.  I have no idea who this statue is of, but I think Christian got an answer at some point.  There were tons of teens playing badminton, which is wildly popular in SE Asia, and soccer, little kids running all over the place, old people strolling, tourists doing what we were doing, and not too many people trying to sell us stuff - I love strolling along the river.

This guy is huge.  Forced perspective kind of ruins that aspect.
